Vegan, plant-based dental floss
With mint and organic coconut oil
Compared to conventional disposable containers, our innovative refill system saves a lot of waste without any loss of convenience. The dispenser is user-friendly, robust and stands out from generic products from other manufacturers with its fresh design.
The lid and base of the dispenser are made of bioplastic based on pine oil obtained in a side stream of wood & paper production. The production is ISCC+ certified and the material is recyclable in the existing resource cycle.
Our yarn consists of 100% renewable raw materials and is based on castor oil. It’s extracted from seeds of the fast-growing wonder tree. Castor oil is a completely renewable resource that does not require large amounts of water, uses only a small acreage of farmland and is therefore perfectly suited for a future of sustainable agriculture.
Even our spool’s core is made of sugar cane and is recyclable. So after use just put it in the recycling bin and give the material a chance to be brought back to life for another round of use.
Our packaging is made of FSC® certified cardboard and can easily be recycled. The packaging of dental floss consists of a thin paper bag.In addition, we compensate for all production-related emissions by supporting climate protection projects.
Our floss is enriched with coconut oil, which works against caries in a natural way based on its composition and soothes the gums at the same time.
To put a fresh feeling around every tooth and also supply a fresh breath, our dental floss is coated with natural mint.

The dispenser is completely manufactured in Freiburg.
The yarn is produced in a textile factory in Southern Europe and then spun into a multi-threaded yarn. Next door, the bobbin on which the yarn is rolled up is manufactured.
Brushing the narrow spaces between the teeth is not enough to clean them sufficiently. Since they make up about one third of the tooth surface, it is very important to clean your interdental spaces separately – preferably with dental floss. Grip them firmly with two fingers, guide them into the space between the teeth, place them halfway around the tooth and pull them carefully from the gum to the end of the tooth, along the tooth, also slightly under the gum – twice on each tooth.
Take about 50 cm of floss, wrap the ends around your fingers, apply the floss as described and use a fresh section for each interdental space.
The lid and the bottom are recyclable in the current material cycle (plastic recycling) The yarn is made of plant based nylon. Unfortunately, nylon is not recyclable in Germany. Until it is, the yarn is best kept in residual waste, where upon they end up in thermal recycling. Since our materials are based on plants and plants bind a lot of CO₂ during photosynthesis, only the CO₂ that was bound by the plants during growth and is released again during thermal recycling – this makes the TIO toothbrushes almost CO₂ neutral. This leads to a much better ecological footprint.
The packaging can simply be put into the paper bin, where it is recycled.
The spool core and the knife are best put into the yellow bin, from where they are laid down for a new life.
